Approximately 300 underprivileged children between 2-17 years old will attend and participate in the activities of the Alpha English School which includes Basic to higher-level English Training, Life Skills, Basic to high numerical literacy, excursions, sports, financial Education, Individual Child Counseling; Projects Work, Parents Meeting. Learning through Games and Fine and large motor skill development through activities
About 300 youths ( males and females) in all four branches of the alpha English school in cooperation with the reputed Organization will organize sessions (workshops and training) in skills development (i.e singing, dancing, acting, sports, computer literacy, etc) and teach them how to monetize the skills acquired. Volunteers and teachers who have undergone training on enhancing identified creative/artistic skills will be invited/requested to facilitate these sessions among the underprivileged youths of the Mumbai slum. Tailoring class, Mehandi Class, Beautician Course, and Jewellery making are trained and Jop placement done.
Parents of the Mumbai slums especially women between 25-40 years old who have completed sessions on financial education will be given the chance to become self-reliant by providing them with vocational skills training (not requiring a school degree) for self-employment necessary to help them earn a living while staying in the slums. This in the long run could greatly aid in the development of the slums as they could help in the construction of better houses/ turning the slums into a more conducive living environment. Training will be conducted in cooperation with the resource persons( from technical/vocational training institutions). Currently we run Computer Class, English Speaking, Retail Management Course, Financial Literacy course, Interview Techniques and Placement
